Pregnancy Yoga
See above St Chad's Hall, 5 Matua Road, Huapai, Kumeu See Map At such a life changing time, it's important to take time out to connect with yourself and baby. A pre-natal yoga practice focused on supporting this important time through working with breath and body is a great way to do this. Practicing pregnancy yoga has been found in many studies to support a healthier pregnancy and prepare for a healthy labour. It has even been found that there is a higher rate of healthy births among women practicing pregnancy yoga. It helps you to have a greater awareness of your body, learning how to slow down and go inwards (so difficult for most of us in our busy culture!) . It can also help support and strengthen your back and body and prepare you for labour by strengthening back and leg muscles, assisting baby into a good position and providing an awareness of pelvic floor muscles. Also perhaps most importantly, we learn awareness and control of breath, invaluable for maintaining calm and tuning in. Not just any yoga is suitable for pregnancy, so it's important to attend a specialised pre natal yoga class. This can also be a great time to connect and share with other mums-to-be. Our pregnancy classes include:
